I think it's completely normal to be numb to certain problems just because you don't want to get hurt again. It's like a protective wall to keep you away from the things that aren't going to be good for you. I am a 28 year old female and I agree with you completely. The hardest part is working because in most jobs you are expected to use a computer for most of the day and also to be readily available at all times through your cell phone and e-mail. I feel that it is unacceptable for people to think that I should be accessible to them 24/7. I often take a lot of slack for not picking up my phone or returning text messages. I do believe that technology has some practical benefits but I am concerned about where it is taking us. two weeks ago, i bought two male roborovski dwarfs from the pet store. they've been getting along fine up until two days ago. on occasion, one hamster will chase the other around the cage, and the one that's being chased will burrow under the bedding. the same one that's doing the chasing will also kind of push the other one, or flip it over onto its back. there is usually some squealing from the one being flipped over. i've looked both over, and so far haven't seen any scratches or cuts, and there's no blood on the beding. is this behavior normal?

4 days ago I broke out into hives. I bought myself some Benadryl and it didn't seem to work. I am not under any abnormal stress. My throat is not closing or posing any problem at all. This is the first time in my life I have had hives. Tough question. I would say, one, we need to do something about oil prices and we aren't doing enough. President Bush is not putting enough pressure on oil companies and the Saudis to increase oil production. Demand is growing, profits are soaring for oil companies, and they simply aren't doing enough to reinvest in infrastructure to increase production. This will have a huge impact on overall pricing of goods sold which will lower inflationary numbers. To me, this is the best offensive move we can make. Second, end the war in Iraq. Its working, its working, who cares? We need to stop pouring our money out in military force to combat something that will never go away. This will have a huge effect on the deficit and improve the dollar's value again. As much as I want Iraq to be free, its up to them now. Here's the weapons, go for it. Lastly, we need to do more to increase exports out of this country to foreign markets. The trade deficit is beyond ridiculous and if we want to keep middle cl families employed, we better find something for them to do other than working at Walmart or McDonald's.

Depends on the era. Early battles probably had, if not a flag, some symbol around which the troops could gather. Each clan would have a sprig of a local plant so they could tell each other apart (the tartan was not common until later). The fighters would typically use a broadsword of some variety, which by about 1500, developed into the claymore (glaive mohr in Gaelic, spellings differ) similar to the one Mel Gibson had in "Braveheart." Early on, they would wear a longish linen shirt, called a leina (or something similar). Leather armor, chainmail, and by the time of Bannockburn, 1314, full armor would have been worn by nobles, and those who could afford it. Early music would have been by a harper, although horns might well have been used. The pipes came along in the 1500's. The great kilt also showed up a bit later. Later Scots (1600's and on) would have a round shield about 2 feet across, called a targe, and the sword, by this time a basket hilt. Most also had a dirk about a foot long, and often a skane dhu (spellings differ) "black knife," in their sock or boot. The Highland charge was simple but effective. The clansmen would charge down a hill, if they had guns, they would halt and fire them, hit the enemy line knocking the enemy's guns or swords away with the targe, and slashing with teh dirk in the left hand, while employing the sword with his right. I became a NASCAR fan and the first 2 tracks I went to were Darlington and Rockingham. There once were 4 races at those 2 tracks every year. Now, there is only 1 and people are nervous about NASCAR leaving there. I think the big wigs at NASCAR no longer care about us long time fans who helped make the sport great when the names were Petty, Pearson, Allison, and Darrell Waltrip. Ok, I am freakin out pretty bad right now. I am 8 weeks pregnant with no health insurance, and just got denied by Medicaid in Florida, because I make too much money! BTW, I make $14 an hour, and bring home $415 a week. Which is HARDLY well off, especially in my county where the cheapest rent I could find is 1,000 a month. But obviously the state of Florida thinks I make way too much money to need help with prenatal care and delivery. I guess they would rather you quit your job when you get pregnant instead of trying to be a contribution to society... Grrrr...Anyway, all I qualify for is "Medically Needy" which means I have to pay at least $2207 a month in medical bills before I get help (and how could I possibley do that when I dont even bring home that much??). Obviously that will be no help except maybe for the labor itself.... Hi, 4 days ago, i started exercising. I have been using a walk at home dvd that i really like. I generally do about half an hour to an hour. Alignment techs?

I started working at a shop that has an alignment rack and I've noticed that when these guys do a 4 wheel alignment that they do not pull the pins on the plates that the rear tires sit on and yet they do adjust the rear. It is nice that you are trying to help out. Being a god-parent from what I understand is when both parents die for some reason, and you agree to take the child. He is still alive and well and needs to take care of his daughter the best he can. I know being a single parent is hard, I am one, so just make sure he knows you will help out, but make sure he knows also that he can't just "dump" her off when he is sick of her. Hope that helps.

Fugitive From Justice in NY, and Extradition to Florida?

Without getting into too much details a friend of mine was arrested a couple of days ago for a cl A misdemeanor (ault w/ intent to cause physical injury) here in NY. His court date is already set. However the following month he will have another court date for being a Fugitive From Justice out of Florida relating to a parole violation for involuntary manslaughter. Obviously bond has not been posted, and I'm extremely worried since he's been my friend for about 9 years, and you would think there was a statue of limitations at least for parole violation over seven years! Needless to say since neither we (his friends in NY) or him can afford an attorney, and seeing how he will be appointed one by the court what is the worst case scenario relating to this situation? Will he serve prison time here in NY, and then get extradited to Florida for further punishment? Pretty much what can we expect from this whole situation? I know a bit complicated. But without consulting a lawyer what are some opinions from those of you more knowledgeable on the law? I've already done my own research but I'm no lawyer...

A surprise! Mums dog took over my little boys tent in the living room. Next thing we knew we had two puppies in short succession at 2pm yesterday. An autopsy was never performed. That is all. The mother 'forgot' to drop the baby off at day care is her only answer. The d.a. says he cannot find anything to charge the mother with. The day care unit never called her. The d.a. says they spoken with all family members & the family members all support her due to her loss. d.a. says it is punishment enough that she will be thinking about what she did on a daily basis. I maintain he is not upholding the law to the people. The charges should at least be criminally negligent homicide or endangering the welfare of a child. Nothing is being done. I have the same problem. What worked for me may not work for you but here goes. What I do is I shower and get ready for bed two hours before I plan on going to sleep. i have got a 220 litre tank, and plan on placing another tank the same size next to it, but firstly i want to get the one i have set up, do you think it is worth the all the extra effort etc, etc getting a sump filter set up on the tank i have so that i can expand etc later on? to filter more tanks i plan on setting up?? or would i be better off just buying good quality canisters?? i know that sumps provide extremely good biological filtration, and provide a good place to hide heaters etc etc, but i am wondering if it's really worth the extra money and effort??

There's no way to get out of your contract with Verizon. As far as switching to T-Mobile just for the Sidekick LX, I wouldn't do it. I've had the Sidekick 2 and the Sidekick 3. It's not all that it's hyped up to be... the Sidekick 3 had many issues. And from the specs, I see no real difference between the 3 and the LX that would make me go run out today and buy it (Ooo, the screen is brighter!! And STILL no video recording...). I was considering going back to the Sidekick family, but I changed my mind when I thought about all the other phones on the market that offer way more features for the same or lower price... (i.e. Helio Ocean). All applications have to be bought throught the Download interface... which means if you want ringtones, you have to buy them ($2.50/ringtone and you can only hold a max of 10 ringtones in your Sidekick at any point)... you want games, you have to buy them ($3.99 and up... $3.99 being the crappy games...). Just my opinion, but I wouldn't rush to get one... Sit back and watch to see if there are any bugs that need to be worked out.

My kitten is being ! ?

We homed a 5 month old male kitten from a shelter about a week ago. He really is fantastic and we love him to bits already, but his aggressive play is starting to cause some issues. Obviously I know play is very important to his development and we both make sure to engage in lots of active play with him every day however his playful pouncing and catching has a painful edge in that he is not afraid to use claws and teeth. We've tried saying 'no' in a firm voice, but being a cat, he just ignores us and that just leaves us feeling mean and like all we ever do is tell him off. What can we do to get the message through to him that play is fine, but teeth and claws are not?
