Mercury Sable 2004 won't start all of the time especially when I turn the key all the way over?

Your car should only start when you turn the key all the way to the "Start" position. It returns to "Run" after the car starts. Check the battery, battery cables to the starter, starter and starter solenoid and lastly see if your getting power to the starter relay and the solenoid.
