Can you help me with my hives?

4 days ago I broke out into hives. I bought myself some Benadryl and it didn't seem to work. I went to the doctor yesterday and he told me to take Zantac on top of the Benadryl, and he also perscribed me Prednisone. I took the medicine as directed, all day yesterday. I just woke up this mourning, and they seem to have gotten worse. My wife and I have searched the house up and down for a cause. We haven't changed any soaps in the shower, nor have we changed laundry soap. We haven't ate anything out of the ordinary. Nothing at my place of work has changed as well. I am not under any abnormal stress. My throat is not closing or posing any problem at all. This is the first time in my life I have had hives. After extensive reasearch on the web, I have come up with nothing I haven't covered. I do not have health insurance, so I would like to try to avoid going back to the doctor. There is no family history of Angioedema. Please help me.
