The Benefits to adding an air intake to a 2010 Chevy Avalanche 5.3L V8?

Not very much, the stock system has an airbox which is not a bad way to deliver good cool air to the engine. You will notice some improvement if you change the filter to a less restrictive type, but you will not find much improvement by adding another air intake.
