Who do you think will be the next Mexican soccer player to go to Europe?
We already saw Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez being picked up by Manchester United, so who will be next? There are intriguing possibilities and some unexpected players who might go. After all, no one thought Miguel Layun would go to Atalanta of Italy before being loaned out to America. I think it is very likely that two players of the chivas can go to Europe, one from Cruz Azul, and two from UNAM. I believe Omar Esparza and Omar Arellano may go. Chivas received an offer from PSV Eindhoven for Omar Esparza before he went down with a minor knee injury that will sideline him through the end of June. Omar Arellano has come on strong scoring goals, but having a good vision for making plays. Martin Galvan of Cruz Azul could have been picked up by FC Barcelona if he made it to their Youth tryouts, but as of October 2009 Arsenal made an inquiry to Cruz Azul regarding Galvan. I believe that Omar Esparza will fully heal from his knee strain and convey that to PSV Eindhoven and may be purchased within this year. Omar Arellano is a possibility, but Galvan may be a little hard as we know that Cruz Azul never lets players go to Europe...remember how Aaron Galindo left Cruz Azul. UNAM could have 2 going to Europe as Efrain Juarez and Pablo Barrera are true gamers. Efrain Juarez has a great knack for disrupting offenses and setting up plays and Pablo Barrera makes brilliant plays and always goes with a full tank of gas... both are speedsters.
