Why did the US Coast Guard choose to go with the CASA CN-235 instead of the Alenia C-27J Spartan?

I would've thought the C-27J would've had more commonality with the C-130J Super Hercules (engines & operating systems) the Coast Guard is scheduled to receive than the CN-235.
